On Fear, the Self and the Human Brain

http://www.diplomaticourier.com/news/middle-east/1060-the-fear-factor-in-conflicts

I'm honestly not sure how to break apart this fear factor, other than to begin mixing the ethnic and religious communities at young ages in order for form one nation. There will, no doubt, be people who will cling to this ineffective and inefficient system of governance that creates more problems than it solves.

But, such is the way of the conservative (small "c") mindset.

There is a long history of conflict and persecution amongst these folks. Not as bad as it was under the Catholic Church in the West (Islam being a more open religion to other Abrahamic sects). But this is a generational problem that, I think, needs to be snapped in many places around the world where people haven't been able to get along for a long time for one reason and another.

It's amazing how powerful that sense of self that our left hemisphere produces for us is. And, it's a reflection of it's function in the world around us and within us as well as we interact with others that are, on the surface, different from us, and reflect on our own sense of self as well, individually.

It's a very sad thing.

And, I don't know how to stop it, short of a massive project in human mind control that targets specific areas of the brain to enhance and improve upon these fatal flaws within the species.

And, since when is the practicality of that going to come into effect?

Think about it.

Cause we're bugger all if we don't.

Think about it.
