I would love to teach altruism. But altruism is not what apparently motivates most of the species on a regular basis. Human beings are social beings. We rely on each other for our well being and survival, physically and emotionally. Better instead, to demonstrate how selfish-self interest relates to this collective self, and vice versa. That way, I think, a majority of people can relate to what I've got to say and more easily be able to practice this kind of good will towards others, through the understanding of how it relates to themselves as singular individuals.
Think about it.
Cause YOU'RE the one who loses out when you don't.
